Revhead Rose To Turn Heads At Car Show

Rare as it may be, there is a wife just as fanatical about cars as her husband. 67-year-old Croydon Park woman, Rose Cassar, is admittedly an avid Ford fan, driving around in a 1966 Ford Mustang droptop. Though the car ‘biz’ is usually a masculine passion, Rose’s hubby Reg admits he is very fortunate that the two share the same passion for cars.

Rose, who confesses that she is usually the only woman at car shows, discovered her fascination with cars when she migrated to Australia at the ripe age of 18 and got married.

“My father-in-law was always involved in cars and of course my husband grew up around cars, then we got married and I became like him,” Mrs Cassar said.

The couple will also be displaying their 1934 Ford five-window at the Burwood Festival this coming Sunday. Though the Mustang was a recent purchase, the coupe has been in their possession for over 30 years, having originally bought it from a man who built the beauty from scratch.

Albeit the couple has owned over 50 cars, the Mustang does attract significant attention; keen admirers constantly stop them in the street to compliment the beautiful relic.

The fanatic couple’s coupe will be displayed with 150 other vehicles at the upcoming show.
