With BMW’s next-generation 1 Series set to hit the road next year, it’s no wonder Beemer-punters and auto journalists alike, are in a frenzy. Secret paps managed to spy and photograph the BMW hatch during testing in Europe, revealing a profoundly redesigned aesthetic.
The new replacement is longer and stronger, bearing a noticeably starker resemblance to the rest of the brand’s series, including the 3 and 5 ranges. Restyled elements include the rear windows, bodywork, tail lights, and bumper.
Albeit it was the five-door version that was spotted, reports suggest that a variety of body styles are in the works for the new model, most notably a 2-door “shooting brake” version.
According to sources, the focal point is efficiency, thus punters should anticipate a diesel and hybrid additions. There are also reports that the all-wheel-drive xDrive system may be integrated to the new model.
Nonetheless, we will all have to excitedly await the global reveal that is expected late this year.
